Do You See Us? The Healing Power of Witnessing Black Women

Apr 9, 2026

In this episode, I explore the heightened importance of witnessing Black women—especially now.

As we enter Black History Month, Black women are navigating disproportionate career disruption, increased responsibility, emotional fatigue, and systemic invisibility. Yet we are still expected to perform at peak strength without protection and to maintain resilience without rest.

In this conversation, I unpack five critical ways Black women need to be witnessed: strength, success, struggle, sadness, and shifts.

I share why strength without care becomes exploitation, why unwitnessed success offers no protection, why unacknowledged struggle leads to burnout, why buried sadness hardens the spirit, and why healing shifts can threaten systems that benefit from our silence.

This episode is both inspirational and instructional—offering language for experiences many Black women live but rarely get to name. Whether you are navigating leadership, career change, or personal reinvention, this conversation invites you to see more clearly, respond more humanely, and witness more courageously.
