The One Person Women Forget to Be Loyal To….
Sep 30, 2026
Were you taught to be loyal to everyone except yourself?
Many of us learned to be loyal to our families, friends, communities, churches, organizations, cultures, and causes. But I don’t remember anyone teaching me what it meant to be loyal to myself.
So what does self-loyalty actually look like?
In this episode of Deciding to Soar: Living Life Your Own Way, I share four practices I’ve learned through mistakes, pain, healing, faith, and triumph:
• Trust the truth of who you are.
• Recognize that being loyal to yourself requires risk.
• Choose relationships over rivalries.
• Be guided and governed by God.
Self-loyalty isn’t selfishness. It is honoring who you are without consistently betraying yourself, abandoning your gifts, or shrinking your divine design to satisfy everyone else.
And sometimes the most courageous question we can ask is:
Where am I asking other people to be loyal to me while I am still learning how to be loyal to myself?
