Don’t Live A Shouldy Life
Does this sound familiar?
Client #1: I never wanted to be a doctor, but I didn’t have a choice.
Client #2: I lost my singing contract, so I cannot make another record. I can’t market it by myself.
Client #3: My family doesn’t want me to leave my husband even though I never loved him. They don’t believe in divorce.
Client #4: I accepted a leadership role even though I didn’t want to accept the promotion. I don’t want to let other women down, but I hate it.
What did my clients have in common: they were living “shouldy” lives, AND they were miserable.
The truth is: many people are living restricted lives. Some are aware that they are following rules and compromising their happiness for others.
Others are not aware because they don’t see the invisible chains that are keeping them stuck.
You always have options. Even if you can’t change the situation, you can change how you experience and interpret the situation.
If you want to stop living an obligated life or if you are interested in looking at your life through a broader lens, join me next week.
You don’t have to settle for “obligated” living.
You can choose, change, and create what you need to thrive.
The client stories are in my newest book, Deciding To Soar 2: Unwrapping Your Purpose.
